Instructions for MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION
DEADLINES: MARCH 15 and SEPTEMBER 15 of each year
(Please read the application instructions carefully)
3. There is a non-refundable $20 application processing fee.
4. The jury looks for a consistent body of professional work. There are no size or subject limitations for acceptance into N.A.W.A.; however, our office gallery usually sets guidelines for artwork submitted to specific exhibitions. Public and private exhibition venues also set guidelines for artwork submitted to specific exhibitions.
5. There are no category restrictions for members. Work submitted for exhibitions will only be limited by the defined categories and size requirements established for each N.A.W.A. exhibition.
6. Upon acceptance of membership, you must pay annual dues and an initiation fee as set forth below. All annual dues and initiation fee must be paid promptly upon receiving your accepance notice.

* The dues for new members accepted in March will be prorated at $67.50 N.A.W.A. annual dues will be due in full at the beginning of the next fiscal year.
** Florida Chapter membership is open to all National Members by paying the Florida dues of $20.00. Please send a separate check made payable to N.A.W.A. SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
1. All Images:
- Clearly label slides or CD/DVD with following information:
Ø Artist’s name Ø Title
Ø Medium
Ø Image size in inches (height x width) or (height x width x depth). Ø Slides should be marked with arrow indicating TOP, and numbered to correspond to the image list (on the last page). - CDs:
Ø Digital Images should be jpegs. Ø Image size should be 300ppi, and the largest side (height or width) should be 1800 pixels. (If you resize your image to 4” x 6” or 6” x 4” it will default to 1800 pixels). Ø Number images to correspond to accompanying image list (found on last page). To Complete Your Membership Application:
1. Please include a Stamped, self-addressed #10 envelope for jury results.
2. Please include a prepaid CD/DVD mailer or a second prepaid envelope if you want your CDs/DVDs or slides returned.
3. Please include a $20.00 non-refundable application processing fee:
Check made payable to the national Association of Women Artists, Inc.
No application will be processed without it.
4. Please return pages 5, 6 and 7.

To apply for membership please enter 5 images of your work in ONLY one of the following categories. If you are submitting artwork in the sculpture or installation category please submit 2 view of 5 different artworks.

Works on Canvas
Two-dimensional works on canvas including oil, acrylic, encaustic. (Generally, work not under glass).
Works on Paper
Two-dimensional works on paper including graphite, charcoal, pastel, watercolor. Hand-cast or handmade paper may be used.
Printmaking
Two-dimensional works on paper including mono-prints and editions may be used. Hand-cast or handmade paper may be used.
Sculpture
Three-dimensional work (unique or cast) including assemblage, stone, clay, bronze, wood, fiber, metal, cast paper and metallic art.
Photography
Traditional cameras (35mm, medium and large format, pinhole, Dianna, Holga) and traditional darkroom production of black and white, color, alternative, double exposure and hand-colored final prints.
Digital cameras may be used to produce (black and white, color, digitally enhanced, manipulated, or altered photography).
Both categories may be printed on pigmented enhanced archival papers or traditional darkroom fiber/resin papers.
Mixed Media/Collage
The use of different media in one work, including a combination of found objects, images, photographs, encaustic, shapes, and color in conjunction with traditional artist media.
Video
Computer generated animation only (no live action and no film). Video art relies on "moving pictures" (animation).
Installation
Art that is created for a specific site, often incorporating materials from the physical features of the site, is qualified. It is art that is installed, arranged or placed. It may be temporary or permanent.
